Begin your exploration with Old Delhi, the heart of the city’s Mughal heritage. Visit the grand Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, built by Shah Jahan. From there, enjoy a thrilling rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, soaking in the chaos, colors, and street food aroma of this historic market street.
Next, stop at the Red Fort (outside view), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former seat of Mughal power.
Continue to Raj Ghat, a peaceful memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, where his funeral took place in 1948.
Later, the tour shifts to New Delhi, designed by the British with wide boulevards and grand buildings. Drive past the impressive India Gate, a war memorial arch, and see the President’s House and Parliament House from outside.
Then visit Humayun’s Tomb, a beautiful example of Mughal architecture and a forerunner to the Taj Mahal.
Later, explore the towering Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world, surrounded by ancient ruins that date back to the 12th century.
Visit the peaceful and beautiful Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, a sacred Sikh shrine known for its golden dome, spiritual atmosphere, and community kitchen (langar) that serves free meals to all visitors.
Time permitting, your guide may also include Lotus Temple (Baháʼí House of Worship), known for its flower-like architecture and tranquil ambiance.
